Istanbul boxes and New Origami project

I've been wanting to try it ever since the I've seen Benjamin John Coleman's Origami Bonsai on YouTube. I purchased the book, and have already started on my first project. I'm still learning the folds, but as with everything, the smaller flowers I fold, the sweeter they look. I need some twigs, and time to fold a lot of leaves, but hopefully, the result will be worth the time and effort.

In the meantime, my sister has offered me to use the pictures of old Istanbul engravings on an old wall calendar to make boxes. Here's the result.

The pictures not only made for really nice boxes, but also gave me an exciting idea about a collection. These days, it feels everything wraps itself around the theme of Istanbul, as though it's a powerful magnet that attracts my every thought, and every intention.

It's slightly dizzying, slightly fearsome as I feel myself being pulled deeper and deeper into this city, spiriling in a brand new dimension, in a way I have never experienced before.

And yet, I do not complain.
